Chuan Long graduated from the University of Tasmania, Australia with a Bachelor of Laws degree in 2004. He obtained his Certificate in Legal Practice in 2006 and was called to the Malaysian Bar as an Advocate & Solicitor in 2007.
Chuan Long has experience in a diverse range of property-related acquisitions and disposals as well as some experience in corporate commercial matters. He has handled various documentation for large-scale housing, serviced apartments, commercial projects and end financing loans. Chuan Long is also experienced in property-related loans.
For corporate matters, Chuan Long is experienced in corporate exercises of listed companies in Malaysia such as acquisition, disposal, private placement, share issuance schemes, rights issues exercises with and without warrants, initial public offerings (including corporates in Malaysia and China companies to get listed in the share market of Malaysia) and conducting legal due diligence reviews to ensure compliance with disclosure requirements and regulations of capital market laws.
Chuan Long has also given a public talk in Hong Kong on the subject of acquisitions of properties by foreign investors in Malaysia.
Chuan Long speaks fluent English, Bahasa Malaysia, Cantonese, Mandarin and is able to converse in Hakka.
Notable transactions
Advising, reviewing and drafting the sales and purchase agreement for the following amongst others:
disposal of industrial lands with a cumulative purchase consideration of RM15.2 million in Rawang;
disposal of a podium block with a basement level car park in the Klang Valley for RM81 million;
disposal of lands in Rawang for the consideration of approximately RM80 million;
lease purchase agreement for approximately RM80 million in Johor;
disposal of three pieces of lands in Johor for the cumulative consideration of approximately RM155 million; and
disposal of a 3.5 acres land for the consideration of RM43 million in the Klang Valley.
Advised on the tenancy agreements on residential and commercial buildings in the Klang Valley including Mont Kiara, KL Sentral, and Eco Nest.
Advised on proposed listing of the People's Republic of China company on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad.
Advised on proposed cash subscription of redeemable secured junior sukuk in a company listed on Main Market of Bursa Malaysia.
Advised on proposed private placement.
Advised on the proposed implementation of the extension of the expressway entered into between a concessionaire and the Government of Malaysia.
